For all the ladies out there looking for a Halloween costume for 2009, you can't go wrong with a female pirate costume[phpbay] Pirate costumes are an ever popular outfit along with the likes of witch and vampire costumes[phpbay] They seem to be a safe costume but still have enough about them to let people let their hair down so to speak[phpbay] And some look pretty good too[phpbay]
There seem to be two categories of pirate costume for women[phpbay] The first is the authentic looking outfits[phpbay] The other category are sexy or titillating costumes that doff their cap to the general theme of pirates but not much else[phpbay]
The first option can look really good[phpbay] They generally include a bandanna, a peasant style white or mahogany colored shirt, corset or waistcoat, pants or skirt and some pirate boots[phpbay] Anyone dressed in some of these costumes can still look sexy but she also can act as a real pirate[phpbay] So she may want to get a big and sharp looking cutlass and even a flintlock pistol[phpbay] Anne Bonny would be envious when you come dressed in the high seas pirate costume[phpbay]
The second category seem to be skimpy outfits that have a few accessories that you might recognize as nautical by their general style or design[phpbay] One prime example of these kind of female pirate costumes is the Playboy Scandalous pirate costume[phpbay] This consists of a crimson and gold bra and gold lace skirt[phpbay] It is matched with a crimson red cropped jacket with naval cuffs and a naval style red hat[phpbay]
As I say, I don't think you would have seen too many female pirates wearing an outfit like this in 1784 but I'm pretty sure it will have a positive affect at any Halloween party in 2009[phpbay]
