romantic vampire books like twilight
The Twilight Novel, written by Stephanie Meyer after a very realistic dream, is a hit[phpbay] And it's a hit across the age lines that usually decide if a book is for kids or adults[phpbay] Tweens, teens, and moms alike are drawn to the first novel of the Twilight Saga like a moths is drawn to the flame[phpbay] They are also drawn to the second, third and fourth books too[phpbay] This new writer had such a realistic dream, that she woke up and began to put together this long, but compelling, story about a vampire, Edward Cullen, and his human soul mate, Bella Swan[phpbay] Within months, her book was picked up by a publisher and once it hit the bookstore shelves it was an instant hit[phpbay]
One of the most famous lines from the book is from Bella[phpbay] She states three things she knows: "About three things I was absolutely positive[phpbay] First, Edward was a vampire[phpbay] Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominant that part might be, that thirsted for my blood[phpbay] And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him[phpbay]" The first time I read it, my heart skipped a beat and I knew I was hooked on Twilight the same way Edward and Bella are hooked on each other[phpbay] I am an obsessed Bella and Edward fan[phpbay] I am on Team Edward! Sorry, Jacob[phpbay]
I bought the Twilight Novel on a Sunday night[phpbay] I picked it up because I didn't see anything I really wanted to read and had heard some rumblings about the popularity of the book[phpbay] I like SciFi so I knew I would enjoy the story about a vampire/human romance[phpbay] I read the Kelley Armstrong, Kay Hooper and Kim Harrison books, so witches, vamps and weres are not new to me[phpbay] Neither are psychics and their powers[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]I like them and I like vampires and werewolves[phpbay]
When I got home and began to read the first novel of the Saga, I knew immediately I was in trouble[phpbay] I only bought the first book[phpbay] By the time I finished the book on Monday, I had already gone back to Barnes and Noble and purchased a copy of New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn[phpbay] There was no way I could finish Twilight and not have the next of the Saga, New Moon, to begin reading right away[phpbay]
I am a fast reader, I read the entire Saga in 6 days and on the 7th day, I thought about resting, instead I began to re-read Twilight[phpbay] Usually, I do not re-read a book as soon as I have finished it[phpbay] What's the attraction? I am not sure, but obsessed is a good word for it[phpbay] This novel is to the reader, like Bella's blood is to Edward[phpbay] Like oxygen is to humans, once this phenomenon hits you, it's almost as though you have no control and it becomes necessary to you[phpbay] I've been struck by Twilightning[phpbay] It's not a bad thing[phpbay] I, of course, own all the books, an Edward bookmark, the director's view of making the movie, the soundtrack and the DVD[phpbay] In my spare time I bake Twilight cakes and cupcakes[phpbay] That's cupcakes and cakes with pictures of the movie cast and symbols on them and there's also a delicious recipe for Vampire Cupcakes I like to use[phpbay]
Don't you think it's funny that Stephen King said Stephanie Meyer couldn't write[phpbay] There is an attraction to her words that I like[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]her phrases and sentences seem to reach deep into my soul[phpbay] Some of the verses in the Twilight Novel will stay with me forever, and will always take a little bit of my breath away when I hear them[phpbay] I also like how she referenced Withering Heights in her novel, because that has long been another favorite of mine[phpbay]
Stephanie wrote the story around the relationship between Edward and Bella, but she gave us the Cullen Clan as well[phpbay] I really like these vampires! I feel like I know each character[phpbay] I want to hang out with Alice and Jasper, my favorites next to Bella and Edward[phpbay] I want to know Rosalie and Emmett, and want to be adopted by Esme and Carlisle[phpbay] The Cullen's and their kind are fangless vampires[phpbay] That's new to all of us[phpbay] We are used to seeing teeth more like Count Dracula's than Edward Cullen's[phpbay] A vegetarian vampire is also a new concept for us to swallow[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]but we do, and we admire the "souls" we have found within the Cullen's[phpbay] We recognize their struggle to do what is right, when everything around them is wrong[phpbay] After all, isn't that something we all can relate to[phpbay] We all make choices everyday, though most of ours are easier than the one the Cullen's are faced with[phpbay]
A strange thing we are now seeing, is how the Twilight Novel can affect one person so strongly, and the next, not at all[phpbay] Do you have friends or relatives, who after reading one or all of the Saga, just said, "It was okay[phpbay]" My sister is still reading the books and it took her weeks (like 5 or 6) to get through the first one[phpbay] It's been months and she is not yet finished with the second, New Moon[phpbay] How can two people with similar tastes and reading preferences, be so far apart in their opinions of the Stephanie Meyer Saga? I guess I am more of a romantic, and just a little bit more sensitive than she is, LOL!
