2009 years was a pretty solid one in the world of indie rock. Some names like Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors and XX delighted critics of innovative and successful versions and there was a fair share of disappointments too.
When all is said and done, I feel that there are several versions of 2009, they did not receive the recognition they deserve. All these activities are really solid albums, when it comes down to it, and when I saw some publications agree, listeners and critics wrote them to a large extent.
Here are a few albums of the last year that I think fits this category. You may find an unexpected gem after reading this.
The discovery is a duo consisting of singer with Ra Ra Riot and Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend. Their debut album, Discovery was a wild adventure through the world of electronic music that sounded like a futuristic version of the Postal Service.
There were standout some songs from that album that never got the recognition they deserve, and I felt that it was extremely innovative CD.
Another Fantasies are Metric. The team had to turn away from the usual sound, instead opting for electronic pop music recalls the impact of the end of 1980 and in the early 1990s. The songs are very catchy and polished, and the album is the best many music lovers' lists of the end of the year will be largely at the unnoticed by others.
Finally, Yonder is the clock by the Felice Brothers has received much praise. What's interesting is that some fans (even indie rock fans) always one to listen to this album.
Perhaps it was not received in publications more influential as it should be, but it is folk rock at its best and deserves to listen to anyone who likes this genre.
These are three of the many underrated releases of 2009. In fact, I'm sure there are many that not even heard of yet.
