I've been reading comments about The Twilight Movie Cast[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]there are so many to be found online[phpbay] I disagree with some of them and totally agree with most[phpbay] Who would you choose?
I think that Rob Pattinson is a great choice to play Edward Cullen[phpbay] I did not always think that[phpbay] When I first heard about the casting for the[phpbay] Twilight movie I did not think Rob was a good choice for the character of Edward Cullen[phpbay] Not that I think Rob is not a good actor[phpbay] He is and I did enjoy his performance as Cedric Diggory in the fourth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire[phpbay] I wasn't convinced of his ability to take on a more mature role like the character of Edward[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]boy, was I wrong[phpbay] The first time I saw the Twilight movie I knew he was the perfect choice[phpbay] Now to millions of Twilight fans, Rob Pattinson has become Edward Cullen[phpbay]
What about Bella? Do you think Kristen Stewart is Bella? I do[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]I cannot imagine anyone else in that part but her[phpbay] These two young actors have lots of experience between them and both Kristen and Rob acted their hearts out[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]they put 40 percent into their characters and that's why the movie is as popular as it is[phpbay] The chemistry between them is wonderful[phpbay] Chemistry cannot be faked and this movie is so great because these two had it! I think the movie was cast perfectly[phpbay]
Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the Twilight movie, was greatly responsible for casting Kristen and Rob[phpbay] She actually found the meadow they used in the movie, wanting it to be perfect[phpbay] It's a little scary to think of New Moon without the direction of Catherine Hardwick[phpbay] Harry Potter thrived with changes in the directors of several of his films, so lets hope The Twilight Saga has the same fate[phpbay]
Back to the cast[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]I have seen Kristen and Rob in other performances, but I was not familiar with any of the others actors and actresses in the cast[phpbay] Now I feel like they are my friends, at least I feel like I know the characters they portrayed[phpbay] They all, combined, gave us a great gift with the Twilight movie[phpbay] Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Elizabeth Reaser, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli[phpbay]
Edward Cullen is played by Rob Pattinson[phpbay] Edward is 17, forever[phpbay] He has been a vampire since 1918[phpbay] Carlisle Cullen found Edward and his mother dying of Spanish Influenza[phpbay] Edward's mother begged Carlisle not to let her son perish[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]as if she could sense something about Carlisle that could save her son[phpbay]
Isabella "Bella" Marie Swan the 17 year old human in love with a vampire is played Kristen Stewart[phpbay] It's the scent of her blood that drives Edward crazy[phpbay] It's like a drug to him, and neither Edward or Bella are sure if he can resist it[phpbay] Regardless of the danger and before Bella even knows what the danger is, she states that she is "unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him"[phpbay]
Carlisle Cullen is the most compassionate of the clan[phpbay] He turned four members of his family into vampires[phpbay] Edward was the first, Esme, his wife was the second, Rosalie was the third and Emmett was the fourth[phpbay] Carlisle is played by Peter Facinelli[phpbay]
Esme Cullen is played by Elizabeth Reaser[phpbay] Esme acts as "foster mother" of the vampire clan[phpbay] She was turned by Carlisle after leaping from a cliff in a state of depression after losing a child[phpbay] She is very gentle and loving, perfect for the role of a mother[phpbay]
Alice Cullen has the gift of seeing the future[phpbay] In her human life she was admitted to an asylum[phpbay] In the early part of the century, the gift of premonition was thought of as mental illness[phpbay] Alice was in danger of being killed by the vampire tracker James, while in the institution[phpbay] A kindly vampire there turned her before James could hurt her[phpbay] Ashley Greene plays Alice Cullen[phpbay]
Jackson Rathbone plays Jasper Hale[phpbay] Jasper is Alice's mate[phpbay] She found him at a diner in Philadelphia[phpbay] Jasper was a civil war major, a southern gentlemen, who was turned by a vampire named Maria[phpbay] When Jasper left Maria and met Alice, Alice said "You've kept me waiting for a long time"[phpbay] Alice, thanks to her gift, knew that she would find Jasper and where he would be[phpbay] Jasper was bewildered, but being the officer and gentleman he was, replied "Sorry Ma'am"[phpbay] Jasper felt hope after meeting Alice[phpbay]
Rosalie Cullen is played by Nikki Reed[phpbay] In life Rosalie Hale was the most beautiful girl in town[phpbay] She was happy with her lot in life and resents being a vampire[phpbay] If she could become human, she would[phpbay] She doesn't like Bella's decision to become a vampire but Rosalie helps Bella in Breaking Dawn[phpbay]
Kellan Lutz plays Emmett Cullen[phpbay] Emmett was mauled by a bear, and almost dead, when Rosalie found him[phpbay] He was so beautiful, with dark hair and dimples, he reminded Rosalie of a beautiful baby she once knew[phpbay] Rosalie was afraid to try to turn Emmett and carried him over 40 miles to bring him to Carlisle[phpbay] He and Rosalie are married[phpbay]
Jacob Black, Bella's Quileute friend and werewolf is played by Taylor Lautner[phpbay] Jacob's character progresses in importance through the Saga[phpbay] He loves Bella and she loves him, but he can never replace Edward[phpbay]
I disagree with those who think the Twilight movie wasn't cast properly, or that the movie doesn't do the Twilight novel justice[phpbay] For me all the pieces fell together like an jigsaw puzzle[phpbay] Each piece fit easily, and let me see a complete picture when it was done[phpbay] I think I will go watch it again right now!
I am not a movie critic[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]just a Twilight movie fan[phpbay][phpbay][phpbay]and it's what the fans think after all, that matters! I have a feeling there are going to be lots of movie review parties when the Twilight Movie is released on DVD[phpbay] I don't know about you, but I can't wait for New Moon!
