vampire diaries pilot date

Who's Katherine from The Vampire Diaries?
In the pilot of The Vampire Diaries that premiered last night, Stephen was looking at some old book with a girl that said "Katherine" right below the picture[phpbay] And it said like 1864 or some date like that[phpbay]
Well I wanna know who is she??
And why does Stephen look at her all emotionally?
Listen carefully, its kinda confusing[phpbay] Katherine is a girl, who could be Elenas twin, thats how much they look alike[phpbay] Katherine fell in love with Stefan, then Damon[phpbay] She loved them both and wanted them both[phpbay] She ended up changing them both by feeding a little bit from them both on the same night[phpbay] Katherine wanted to cause them no more harm, so she faked her end[phpbay] She put ashes from an animal on the ground, and a dress of hers on top of the pile[phpbay] In the story, vampires cannot go into the sunlight because they will turn to ash from the sun, and die[phpbay] They need a ring like the one Stefan shows Elena to go out into the sun[phpbay]It is called a Lapis Lazuli stone, and Elenas eyes are supposed to be the same color[phpbay] They find the set-up the next day and both become extremely angry, as she also left a note[phpbay] I will not say what the note said, it might give crucial things away[phpbay] Because they both loved her, they fought to the death for her, and stabbed eachother[phpbay] Because she fed from them the night before, they both awoke as vampires[phpbay] To become a vampire you have to have one feed from you and then die, in this book[phpbay] That is what happened[phpbay] Katherine plays a major part in a later book in the series[phpbay] I won't reveal what happens though [:[phpbay] Best Answer!!
