vampire shows 2009

I'm really not sure why, but many of us seem to have this fascination with vampires[phpbay] Of course part of it was the highly popular release of "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer[phpbay]

Knowing the popular following her books had, a number of others also jumped on the bandwagon and created TV shows featuring vampires, although they were of the much darker sort all around, even if there seems to always be a good one standing with the humans to counter the pack of evil ones[phpbay] (Do vampires run in packs?)

Of course you can go much further back to decades-long fascination of Hollywood with releasing vampire films, and the Blade series was very popular for its genre[phpbay]

Some people believe there is a sexual connotation to the reasons behind it, and I suppose that's partly true, as seeing them clamp down on someone's neck and suck their blood for some would be stimulating [phpbay][phpbay][phpbay] I suppose[phpbay]

But if that was all there was to it, how many necks could you see a vampire suck the blood out of before becoming very repetitious and boring?

There is the theme of good versus evil included, and that is always popular with fans of any show[phpbay] And you always seem to have humans and vampires going over to each others' sides for a variety of reasons, probably speaking to the social divisions we always will have with us, and how people cross those boundaries in an effort to reach out to one another[phpbay]

Now I don't want to get too introspective here, as sometimes it's just fun to have the wits scared out of us and read or see a good vampire horror story[phpbay]

Either way, there are no shortage of vampire writers and fans to continue our fascination with vampires for a long time to come[phpbay]
