vampire vs werewolf myth
where does the vampire vs[phpbay] werewolf myth come from?
the other day i say a trailer for the new Underworld movie, Raise of the Lycans (i believe was the title) and it got me wondering, that this theme seems to appear in quite a few vampire works of art[phpbay] I was wondering if any body could point me towards any information on this and whether it is based in any way in some sort of fact[phpbay]
i understand that werewolves were meant to keep the vampires in check, but how did this myth come to be and where does it originate from?
That reminds me of the whole pirate vs[phpbay] ninja thing[phpbay] ( : No, I think that vampires and werewolves probably stemmed from the thing[phpbay] That is, a lot of people think that vampires came from people getting rabies after being bitten by bats[phpbay] After you are bitten, you start biting people and you become very hard to kill unless your heart is stopped[phpbay] That would be were the stabbing one through the heart with a wooden stake thing comes in[phpbay] Werewolves were probably similar[phpbay] Bitten by a rabid wolf, contract rabies, start biting people[phpbay] They are so similar that they were either going to be made into allies or enemies[phpbay] Lore about the animals themselves might have come into play at that point[phpbay] I'm really not sure, I'm just being logical[phpbay] Hope it helped[phpbay] ( :
